Sushi Series

Williamstown, Massachusetts

The Sushi Series draws inspiration from Japanese origami, using parabolic fold patterns to create abstract, geometric representations of sushi. Each piece explores how a parabola shifts and behaves when folded — twisted, scaled, and connected by rectangular pieces with cuts that allow the forms to curve.

The main sculpture is a fish made of three distinct sets of parabolic folds connected by rectangular joining pieces. LED lights placed inside illuminate the cuts, folds, and perforations in shifting colors.
